CranGuard includes concentrated extracts of two cranberry species to cover a broad
pH range:
- The common cranberry extract is standardized to contain 5% anthocyanidins and 30% organic acids, including quinic, malic, and citric acids. Researchers are exploring the connection between these organic acids and bladder function.
- The upland cranberry extract (also known as Uva ursi or bearberry) is standardized to contain 20% arbutin. In the body, arbutin breaks down into hydroquinone, a compound recognized for its role in urinary tract function.
Unlike cranberry juice, which is typically sweetened, processed, and watered down, CranGuard capsules provide exactly the right level of key compounds.
